What a big deal: largest flower in the world measured in Indonesia

The name of the flower is Rafflesia tuan-mudae and is found in Southeast Asia. An Indonesian researcher discovered the flower with a diameter of 111 centimeters as far as known, the largest in the world.

The previous record was 107 centimeters.

The large red-orange with white spotted Rafflesia tuan-mudae is a parasite that lives on a grape variety. It spreads a scent of rot to attract insects that cause pollination.

It takes nine months for the flower to blossom and then blooms for about seven days.
