Westerholt colliery becomes a stage: RUbug Festival for urban art

RUbug Urban Art Festival

The archaic wasteland of the Westerholt colliery will become an impressive stage for 60 international artists. They have delved deep into the time of the collieries, have searched for their soul and interpreted it artistically. It is a festival of room installations, collages, paintings, graffiti, murals, projections and interactive multimedia works. Experience the powerful mix of industrial history, monumental colliery architecture and urban art.
The RUbug Festival is a pleasurable stimulus for the senses and the mind. Guided tours, workshops, artist talks, DJs, bands and international street food accompany the two festival weekends – making them a cultural event that has a deep effect.
