Two buses and a bus collided on Sunday late afternoon near the town of Dźwirzyno in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. – 14 people are injured, including two children – said a spokesman for the provincial commander of the State Fire Service in Szczecin. A spokeswoman for the Voivodship Ambulance Station in Szczecin informed that two people in a severe condition were taken by helicopter to hospitals. – It was a 10-year-old child with a head injury and a woman around the age of 40 with craniocerebral trauma – she specified.

The incident occurred around 18.50 near the town of Dźwirzyno (West Pomeranian Voivodeship). At the bridge connecting the poviats: Kołobrzeg and Gryfice, two cruise buses collided, which was additionally ridden by a bus that did not manage to brake.

Commissioner Zbigniew Frąckiewicz from the Gryfice police said that his information showed that two bus drivers were sober.

A spokesman for the provincial commander of the State Fire Service in Szczecin, Captain Tomasz Kubiak in an interview with TVN24 reported that a total of 19 people traveled by vehicles. He added that 14 people were injured, including two children. He assured that all people were provided with medical care.

Press spokesman for the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Kołobrzeg, Captain Krzysztof Azierski, said that the injured children are about 10 years old.

A spokesman for the provincial commander of the State Fire Service also reported that during the rescue operation a helicopter of the Air Ambulance Service, six armies of emergency medical services and 15 firemen were used.

Paulina Targaszewska, spokeswoman for the Voivodship Ambulance Station in Szczecin, said in an interview with TVN24 that as a result of the accident two people were in a serious condition and were transported by helicopter to hospitals. “It was a 10-year-old child with a head injury and a woman around the age of 40 with craniocerebral trauma,” she said.

– Fortunately, everyone, along with the two most seriously injured people, were conscious. Other people had limb injuries, head injuries, chest injuries, general bruises. All of them were secured by emergency medical teams and taken to hospitals throughout the region – she pointed out.

The injured were transported to nearby hospitals in Kołobrzeg, Gryfice, Koszalin, as well as in Szczecin.

The accident site has been secured and the route is impassable. The prosecutor also arrived.
