West Lewoleba Urban Village Head Asked Residents to Maintain Cleanliness to Prevent DHF

POS-KUPANG.COM | LEWOLEBA-Lurah Lewoleba Barat Mikael Ladjar urged its citizens to start paying attention environmental Hygiene around to prevent disease dengue hemorrhagic fever ( DBD) which is a problem every year.

According to him, dengue fever is very prone to occur especially when entering the rainy season like this. He is determined that there are no cases of dengue fever this year or zero cases.

The sub-district, said Mikael, has also issued a voluntary work schedule in each environment to anticipate dengue fever.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Lembata District Health Office, Dr.Lucia Sandra, reminded residents to always take care environmental Hygiene in order to prevent disease dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD).

He has also conveyed this appeal to the heads of puskesmas in Lembata, especially now that the rainy season has started.

The community, said Dr. Lucia, must apply 3M’s healthy lifestyle, namely burying, draining and closing.

He specified what he meant by

1. to drain, namely by cleaning places that are often used as water reservoirs such as bathtubs, water buckets, drinking water reservoirs, refrigerator water containers and others

2. Closing, namely by tightly closing water reservoirs such as drums, jugs, water toren, and the like.

3. Burying or reusing used items that have the potential to become a breeding ground for Dengue Fever-transmitting mosquitoes.

“I have warned the heads of puskesmas to be careful that it has entered the rainy season, so don’t just take care of Covid-19 but also dengue fever,” he said when contacted, Saturday (17/10/2020).

The Lembata Regency Government itself had declared the status of Extraordinary Events (KLB) for diseases DBD in Lembata Regency at the beginning of 2020 yesterday or before the corona pandemic hit. At that time, cases increased DBD very high and even cause death.

But then according to Dr. Lucia, the status of the outbreak was revoked following the decrease in the number of cases.

Until now, Dr. Lucia confirmed that there were no more case reports DBD in Lembata Regency.
