The shock of the news was great, but Lizzy is being “excellently guided” by her doctors, according to Van Dijk. Her daughter has a rare blood disease that prevents her body from producing new blood cells.
Van Dijk temporarily stops her work to care for her daughter. “Lizzy’s well-being is now paramount, and I am confident you will understand this decision.”
