Since 1 June, Hillegom had the most infections of all Dutch municipalities: more than eighteen per 100,000 inhabitants. That is more than Rotterdam, which is concerned about the increasing number of corona infections. With more than thirteen infections per 10,000 inhabitants, the municipality is in 5th place. Goes, Voorst and Katwijk are ahead of Rotterdam.
Holiday countries
RIVM also keeps track of how many infected people return from abroad. When a corona patient has been abroad in the fourteen days before the illness, RIVM includes the visit in its statistics. 8 percent of all corona patients since July 1 met that condition.
Most infected people return from Belgium. In the past two weeks, 25.6 percent of the infected herons came from our southern neighbors, compared to 22.9 percent in the previous two weeks. The second place is for Dutisland, where the percentage remained roughly the same: that went from 13.6 to 13.3 percent.
Serbia is in third place and France is in fourth place, but the percentage from France did increase by 2.1 percentage points, while that from Serbia decreased by 2.2 percentage points.
