Pokémon GO turns four this year, and the Pokémon GO Fest 2020 will be quite special since it will be a virtual experience, given the COVID-19 epidemic. It will take place July 25 and 26, and Niantic had revealed everything you need to know a few days ago. But what we didn’t know is that before that, several events with weekly challenges will take place throughout the month of July.
These will be ad hoc studies, which can be completed even without purchasing a ticket to participate in the Pokémon GO Fest 2020. Completing them will unlock additional Pokémon species for the big event, but this will require that a maximum of Trainers participate, namely a million from each team for all bonuses. To prepare for this, Niantic has launched limited tests, offering guaranteed daily Pokémon encounters, and a free box every day in the Boutique with a few items.

« Week 1: Pokémon GO Skill Challenge and Fourth Anniversary Celebration
The first weekly Pokémon GO challenge coincides with the celebration of the fourth anniversary of Pokémon GO! Trainers, in the four years since Pokémon GO was released, have your skills improved? Did you keep up? It’s time to put yourself to the test! This first weekly challenge will focus on catching Pokémon, so perfect your throwing technique before July 3!
During this event celebrating the fourth anniversary, special Pokémon will appear in the wild, in raids and hatch from Eggs, including Flying Pikachu! With any luck, you might meet a Chromatic Flying Pikachu!

From Friday July 3, 2020 at 8 a.m. to Wednesday July 8, 2020 at 10 a.m. (local time)
GO Fest Weekly Challenge: Skills
– Complete three sets of tasks from the weekly GO Fest Challenge: One-off skills study for the chance to come across Couaneton, Flying Pikachu, a Piece of Star and much more!
– If the following number of Trainers from the same team succeed in completing this One-off Study, the corresponding Pokémon will appear during Pokémon GO Fest 2020.
– One million Trainers of the Intuition Team: Éoko
– One million Trainers of the Wisdom Team: Momanbo
– One million Trainers of the Bravery Team: Leveinard
– If you complete the GO Fest Weekly Challenge: Punctual Skills Study, you will have access to an elite GO Fest Skills Challenge, a series of difficult tasks that you can accomplish to obtain bragging rights! You do not need to complete these tasks for your Spot Study to count towards the Pokémon GO Fest 2020 unlock goals.
Characteristics of the event to celebrate the fourth anniversary
– Flying type Pokémon and Pokémon wearing party hats will appear in the wild, in raids, and will hatch from Eggs. With any luck, you might find a Chromatic Poichigeon!
– Couaneton will debut in Pokémon GO! It will appear in nature and in 5 km Eggs.
– Flying Pikachu will appear in the wild and in raids. If luck smiles on you, you can even meet a Chromatic!
– Summer Preview Research will also be available this week for all Trainers who missed it at last year’s birthday party, so be sure to open the app during this time. to enjoy. This Special Study was designed to help you join other Trainers, with a ton of Star Dust, XP rewards, and even unusual Pokemon encounters.

Special Ho-Oh Raid Weekend
Ho-Oh will join the festivities! You can challenge him in five-star raids from Friday, July 3, 2020, at 8 a.m., to Monday, July 6, 2020, at 10 a.m. local time. Make sure you have Remote Raid Passes. You can buy them in the shop.
Week 2: Combat challenge
Prepare your Pokémon for combat before July 10. Trainers, the second weekly challenge of Pokémon GO Fest will test your fighting skills!

– If you complete the weekly GO Fest Challenge: One-time Combat Study, you will have access to an Elite GO Fest Combat Challenge, a series of difficult tasks that you can accomplish to obtain bragging rights! You do not need to complete these tasks for your Spot Study to count towards the Pokémon GO Fest 2020 unlock goals.
Combat event
Trainers, prepare your Pokémon for battle! Sunday, July 12, 2020, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time, a combat event will take place! Hope you don’t spend too much time there.
Week 3: Friendship challenge
For the third weekly challenge of Pokémon GO Fest, you will celebrate friendship, the mainstay of Pokémon GO. For this challenge, you will need to take a moment to take advantage of your friends, like your Pokémon Buddy and your fellow Trainers! Send Gifts to your friends, and don’t forget to also attach a Gift sticker, you will make people happy. This One-time Study Challenge will be available until July 22, just a few days before the start of Pokémon GO Fest 2020!
The ad hoc study will be accompanied by an event that celebrates summer! Summer-style Pikachu will appear in the wild and hatch from Eggs, and Chlorobule, the Root Pokémon, will debut in Pokémon GO.
