Offenbach (dpa / lsw) – The German Weather Service has issued an official storm warning for Baden-Württemberg for Sunday evening. Level 3 of 4 thunderstorms were therefore expected between 5.45 p.m. and midnight in the administrative districts of Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Freiburg and Tübingen.
Local heavy thunderstorms with heavy rain of up to 40 liters per square meter within an hour, hail with grain sizes of around two centimeters and gusts of wind of 75 kilometers per hour were predicted preferably in the mountains. There is an extreme risk of lightning, hail or heavy squalls. According to the DWD, local flooding and significant traffic obstructions are to be expected.
