The war in Ukraine could last for years, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg warns in an interview with the German newspaper Bild on Sunday.
“We have to prepare for years,” Stoltenberg said. “We must not weaken our support for Ukraine, even if the cost is high, not only in terms of military aid, but also in terms of rising energy and food prices.”
He said fuel and food prices were nothing compared to the price Ukrainians paid every day on the front, warning that “we would have to pay an even higher price” if Russian President Vladimir Putin met his targets in Ukraine.
