Minister Jean Boulet admitted that it is unacceptable that the delays in obtaining test results for COVID-19 are sometimes long for workers, and that “everything must be done” to speed up the process.
As Mario Dumont explains, some workers waiting for the result of their COVID-19 test miss several days of work to avoid inadvertently contaminating their colleagues. This waiting sometimes translates into a drop in the paycheck.
“Health and [la] safety of our workers is my priority ”, affirms the Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Solidarity, on QUB radio. “We weren’t going to compromise in terms of health and safety, but these are the delays that are unacceptable. We must do everything within our means to accelerate the achievement of results. It is fundamental. Make sure everyone can come back to work [rapidement].»
The Minister specifies that, of the 820,000 jobs lost due to the pandemic, approximately 250,000 have still not been recovered.
