We expect Argentina not to become a platform for Morales

Bolivian Foreign Minister Karen Longaric has expressed the hope that the Argentine government will comply with international standards of political asylum in relation to former Bolivian President Evo Morales.

“We expect Argentina not to become a platform for Morales to interfere in Bolivia’s policy,” Longaric said – according to the US network ABC News on Wednesday.

Morales lives in Buenos Aires, next to his two children, who arrived on November 23, and in a tweet posted on the Twitter post, he confirmed that he came to Argentina to continue fighting for the neediest citizens.

Morales was forced to resign after he was abandoned by the army and police on the tenth of last month, after 3 weeks of demonstrations against the elections marred by fraud, as claimed by the opposition and the Organization of American States.

The Bolivian parliament voted – at the end of last November – on a law calling for presidential and legislative elections in which Morales cannot participate, but the date for these elections has not yet been decided.
