We created the Giuseppe Mancini music contest to support young performers

This initiative aims to support young performers at the beginning of their professional musical career, a mission that Mancini carried out with care, leaving an important legacy in all those who were part of the Young Orchestra of the Community of Madrid while he was under his baton.

The high quality of the 25 participating groups has shown the interest and dedication of the students and teachers to the artistic teachings of the music subject and has made the work of the selection jury not easy.

The finalist groups are the Alboreá Quartet, the Borodin Quintet, the Dedeam Quartet, the Kogan Trio and the Lachangriff Trio, who have been selected from among those who have submitted to the first phase of the contest.

The final will have a jury made up of the composer Mauricio Sotelo, professor at the School of Music of Catalonia and resident composer of Berlin Wissenschaftskolleg; the pianist Juan Carlos Garvayo, National Music Award and founder of the Arbós Trio, with whom he has recorded numerous albums, and the cellist Suzana Stefanovic, soloist of the Spanish Radio Television Orchestra.

The contest, aimed at young people between 13 and 20 years old, will award three prizes: the first, worth 750 euros; a second prize of 500 euros and a special prize for the group in which all its members are registered in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, with an amount of 350 euros. In addition, the three winners will have the opportunity to participate in various summer concerts during the month of July. The second and first prizes will have their concert on July 9 and 10 at the Casita del Infante Don Gabriel in this town, in the cycle organized by National Heritage.

The Giuseppe Mancini contest encourages the practice of Chamber Music among young performers, fosters knowledge and the exchange of experiences between musicians from different origins and contributes to the dissemination of San Lorenzo as the cradle of culture and the arts of the Community of Madrid.
