Watch out for solar storms! Expect a direct hit to the ground, may cause radio and GPS outages.

Scientists and researchers around the world are worried about an impending geomagnetic storm heading towards Earth. On July 15, researchers reported that a large solar flare would cause radio blackouts in some parts of the world.

Recently, space weather woman Dr. Tamitha Skov predicted that a solar storm would hit Earth directly on July 19.

The physicist took to social media to share snake-like threads that are released as giant solar storms while in the Earth’s impact zone. “Live Shot! Snake-like filaments that are shaped like huge solar storms are released while in the ground attack zone. NASA estimates the impact will be as early as July 19. A strong #aurora suggests that is possible, deep in mid-latitudes.” Amateur #radio & #GPS users expect signal interference on the night side of planet Earth.

It also mentioned that the July 19 solar storm could be at levels G2 or G3.

“A long, snake-like strand train darts away from the sun in a stunning ballet performance. It will be difficult to predict the magnetic direction of this Earth-bound solar storm. G2 (possibly G3) grade conditions are possible if this storm’s magnetic field heads south!” He says.

According to the study, geomagnetic storms are measured on a “G scale” from one to five where G1 is slight and G5 is intense. It indicates radio frequency interference, power outage, or communications outage worldwide.

The year 2021 is filled with a lot of solar activity as the sun throws a string and creates sunspots. Many asteroids have hit our planet. However, none of them did any harm.

In March 2022, Earth was hit by a geomagnetic storm, and two days earlier, a class G1 geomagnetic storm hit Earth.

It is important to note that such solar storms do not cause significant damage.
