Washington could grant a stimulus payment of up to $1,200

In the state of Washington, a new economic stimulus could be granted directed to households with low and moderate income. We are talking about economic relief of up to $1,200.00 USD thanks to the Washington State Department of Revenue (DOR).Its goal is to help approximately 400,000 eligible employees residing in Washington state. That’s why John Ryser, acting director of revenue, said he was excited to start accepting applications for this program.

The official also added in a press release that the WFTC is part of a broader campaign to reduce poverty in Washington. Therefore, “our agency is proud to be a part of this effort,” he declared.

Who are eligible?

Those who have a Social Security Number or official identification will be eligible to receive this economic stimulus.

If you do not have the Social Security Number, you can receive the Personal Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) instead.

Another eligibility requirement is to have lived in Washington for more than half the year and be between the ages of 25 and 65.

People who have a qualifying child in 2022 or who filed a tax return for the same year are also eligible.

Likewise, those eligible to claim the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit on the 2022 tax return meet this requirement.

For its part, among the documentation that must be delivered are: a copy of the federal tax return that was filed with the Internal Revenue Service and the Social Security Number or ITIN.

The date of birth of the entire family must also be presented, including that of the spouse, that of the children and the address.

Driver’s license or Washington state identification number along with bank routing number will be required. Finally, complete the documentation with the account number if direct deposit is chosen.
