The Russian Navy has confirmed it continues to track the foreign warship fleet during their deployment.
“Russian frigate Admiral Essen has carried out simulated drills in response to enemy air strikes,” a statement from Russia’s Black Sea Fleet said.

“According to the exercise scenario, the control center of the Black Sea Fleet received information about the take-off of a group of ‘enemy’ aircraft towards the Crimean Peninsula,” Russia’s Black Sea Fleet said.

“During the exercise, the air defense crew of the Russian frigate acquired the target and destroyed it using anti-aircraft missiles,” the Russian Black Sea Fleet said in a statement.

The statement clarified that, “An enemy target is simulated electronically via the ship’s onboard weapons control system, and is destroyed before the aircraft reaches striking range.”
