Russian President Vladimir Putin is becoming increasingly sensitive. This is the conclusion of his former speech writer Abbas Gallyamov, in an interview with CNN.
– Previously he was very logical and very rational and could easily control his emotions – now he is exhausted, says Gallyamov when asked if he notices any difference in the way the president behaves and looks physically.
Putin has made several public and television appearances recently, including when he announced a partial mobilization in September, and when he caused the recent massive airstrikes against targets in Ukraine as revenge.
– From what I see now, it is about to lose the ability to break with trends and paradigms, for which it was known in the past. Now he’s just following in the footsteps of the past, says Gallyamov.
The former speechwriter worked intermittently with Putin for a ten-year stint, most recently in 2010, and has a past leading one of Russia’s sub-republics.
In recent years, Gallyamov has acted as an independent political analyst and has written numerous commentary articles in Russian newspapers.
He previously said the Russian military was shocked by Ukraine’s progress during the September offensives, according to CNN.
