War arsenal! Seizes jump rifles, grenades and hundreds of cartridges in Zacatecas

Zacatecas.– Elements of the National Guard (GN) seized assault rifles, chargers, useful cartridges and a fragmentation grenade, as well as two tactical vests inside an abandoned truck, during an operation to mitigate the actions of organized crime in the region.

The incident was recorded during security and crime prevention patrols in the vicinity of the municipality of Nochistlán de Mejía, between the street Colonel Jesus Mejia and José Minero Roque Avenue, national guards observed a lighted truck with the driver’s door open.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the National Guard personnel realized that there was no person on board and at first glance they could see firearms inside the car.

In the area they deployed a perimeter security operation in order to locate the crew members of the truck with the weapons, without obtaining positive results; Upon carrying out an inspection inside they located the following:

• 1 fragmentation grenade.
• 3 assault rifles.
• 1 short weapon.
• 716 useful cartridges.
• 24 chargers.
• 2 tactical vests.

The unit, along with the war material, were secured and made available to the Federal Public Ministry Agency in the entity, to continue the corresponding investigations.
