IDXChannel – Twitter re-make changes to attract more users. This time, Twitter has finally launched Ticketed Spaces, or paid live audio room.
Citing The Verge page Monday (30/08/2021), the company announced that it was experimenting with the feature for some iOS users only.
“We want to help users make Spaces cooler and make money. We’ve only just tested it on iOS, but in the future we hope to bring it to everyone soon,” wrote Twitter Spaces.
Content creators can set the ticket fee that must be paid by followers, starting from USD 1 or around IDR 14 thousand, to a maximum of USD 999 or around IDR 14 million.
However, this income will be subject to a 3 percent deduction.
But Twitter will increase the withholding tax from 3 percent to 20 percent if users earn a total of $50,000 in all their earnings on the app. This cost will also increase as the feature becomes more widely available.
In previewing the feature in May, Twitter said hosts would retain 80 percent of their revenue, after app store fees. (NDA)
