Wanda Buk, deputy minister of digitization, resigns

Deputy Minister of Digitization Wanda Buk is resigning. “It was supposed to be for a while, for one project, and it turned out to be almost 5 years” – she wrote on Tuesday in social media. The information about his departure from the ministry was confirmed on the same day by the Ministry of Digitization.

Deputy Minister of Digitization, Wanda Buk, informed on Tuesday about her resignation on Twitter. “It was supposed to be for a while, for one project, and it was almost 5 years. Finishing my adventure with administration, I would like to thank my superiors and colleagues for a wonderful, intense time. I was very lucky” – she wrote.

The information provided by Buk was confirmed by the Polish Press Agency, the Ministry of Digitization. It made a reservation that formally the deputy minister was still on leave until the end of August.

Earlier the same day Minister of Health Łukasz Szumowski informed about his resignation. On Monday, however, z Deputy Minister Janusz Cieszyński passed away from the health ministry.

Director of Centrum Projektów Polska Cyfrowa, later deputy minister

Wanda Buk was the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Digital Affairs since July 10, 2018. As deputy minister, she supervised the departments of international policy and telecommunications as well as the Minister’s Office in the field of matters arising from the relationship of subordination to the Minister of the Centrum Projektów Polska Cyfrowa. She was also a member of the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers, the European Union Committee and the Government Work Programming Team.

Previously, in 2016-2018, Wanda Buk was the director of the Centrum Projektów Polska Cyfrowa. She was responsible for the implementation of EU-funded projects, including: construction of IT and telecommunications infrastructure providing access to high-speed Internet, development of electronic services with high availability and quality, digitization in administration and culture, improvement of digital competences.
