KOMPAS.com – SEA Games 2021 Vietnam will debut three players Indonesian National teamMuhammad RIdwan (Peach Kediri), Rio Fahmi (Persija Jakarta) and Marc Klok (Persib Bandung).
For the three of them, this is the first time they get the opportunity to appear on behalf of Merah Putih.
The three are in the 20 selected players Shin Tae-yong of the 29 names called in a training center in South Korea on April 18-27.

M Ridwan is a Ragunan SKO dropout who defends Persik Kediri in Liga 1 2021-2022.
Had missed the first round due to injury, he made nine appearances in the second round by contributing one goal.
Interestingly, the nine appearances were not lived in full. At most the 21-year-old striker only played for 58 minutes, twice played 45 minutes and the rest played under 20 minutes.
However, the limited time given was enough for M Ridwan to attract Shin Tae-yong’s attention.

He is indeed blessed with a natural talent to become a striker because he has a posture of 184 cm and a strong and sturdy body.

Rio Fahmi, Talented Full-back Who Wasn’t Highlighted
Rio Fahmi is one of the young players who is quite a phenomenon in Liga 1 2021-2022.
But unfortunately he did not get enough attention because he lost in prestige to Marselino Ferdinand, Pratama Arhan and Alfareanda Dewangga.
Despite his young age, he was able to fill Persija Jakarta’s right-back role when Ismed Sofyan and Marco Motta were absent.

After waiting for two years Marc Klok got the opportunity to defend the Red and White in the official event.
After a long process, he was legalized as an Indonesian citizen (WNI) in November 2020, and received an Indonesian passport in 2021.
Even though he has officially become an Indonesian citizen, he has never strengthened the national team in an official event because he failed to prove his lineage. As a result he had to wait to comply with the FIFA Statutes regarding the length of stay.

After waiting a year, Marc Klok was able to fulfill his dream of defending the Indonesian national team.
He was selected in the 29 players who underwent training camp in South Korea and managed to convince Shin Tae-yong.
Regarding the quality of the game, the 29-year-old midfielder does not need to be in doubt.
He became the best player in the 2021 Menpora Cup after bringing Persija Jakarta to become the champion.
After that he crossed over to Persib Bandung and led the team nicknamed Maung Bandung to become the runner-up of Liga 1 2021-2022.
At Persib Bandung, he recorded 27 appearances, three goals and four assists.
