Especially in times of the pandemic, we depend on a clean and hygienic environment. This is especially ensured by the cleaning staff in the region. For their work under difficult conditions and as recognition, they now receive a wage increase, says Gerald Nicklas from the industrial union Bauen-Agrar-Umwelt Oberfranken. The lower wage limit will rise from the current 10.80 to 11.11 euros per hour. By 2023, cleaning staff should even receive starting earnings of 12 euros per hour. 1200 employees in the city and district of Hof and 940 employees in the Vogtland district can look forward to this. Skilled workers will also benefit from the increase. For example, the wages of operating room cleaners are expected to rise by 8.7 percent by the year after next.
