Colomiers third row (Pro D2) Waël Ponpon is summoned as a training partner to participate in the preparation camp for the Blues before the start of the Six Nations Tournament (February 6 – March 20), the club announced.
“Congratulations to our third line, Waël Ponpon, called by the XV of France to be a training partner before Italy-France (February 6),” the club columérin tweeted on Saturday, confirming press information.

Ponpon, who signed his first professional contract at the age of 23 this week, will therefore go to Nice where the XV of France is due to start on January 25 his training camp before the duel against Squadra Azzurra in Rome.

The names of two other “sparring-partners” had already been unveiled this week: they are the scrum half of Mont-de-Marsan (Pro D2) Léo Coly (21 years old) and the third line from Clermont Maxime Fischer (22 years).
Coach Fabien Galthié has called thirty-seven players for this gathering and can also have five training partners, according to the agreement between the Federation and the League.
