Apple has no evidence of exploitation of the known iPhone vulnerabilities. The US group said on Friday night that the security gaps are “not an immediate risk” for users. Apple is contradicting the statements of the head of the cyber security company ZecOps, Zuk Avraham, who had pointed out the vulnerabilities and considers it to be proven that the vulnerabilities have been exploited in at least six hacker attacks.
Apple confirmed on Wednesday that there were vulnerabilities in its software for the mail program for iPhones and iPads. The next software update will provide a solution to the problem, which affects more than 500 million devices worldwide. Meanwhile, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) advised to uninstall the “Mail” app on Apple iOS or alternatively to deactivate the accounts linked to this app. Otherwise it is possible for attackers to compromise the iPhone or iPad in question by sending an email.
