The Vox Parliamentary Group in the Madrid Assembly has requested that the play ‘Altsasu’, by María Goiricelaya, which addresses the case of the aggression suffered in October 2016 by two civil guards outside the Abadía Theater, be removed from the programming of the Teatro de la Abadía. of service and their partners during the festivities of the Navarrese town of Alsasua, a claim in response to which the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports, Mariano de Paco, has invited them not to be “afraid of freedom of expression.”

For Vox, this play, which was a finalist for best theatrical show and best authorship at the Max and can be seen in the Madrid theater between January 18 and 28, “justifies” the aggression caused by eight young people, since it reflects on the Prosecutor’s Office’s attempt to classify these events as “terrorism”, and questions the judicial process that ended with these young people sentenced to sentences of between 2 and 13 years in prison.

This was expressed in the control session to the Government of the Plenary Assembly of the Assembly yesterday by the Vox deputy Ana María Velasco, who praised the “spirit of service and selflessness” of the Armed Institute and its members, who have suffered for it “terrorism of ETA. In her opinion, the work “justifies the attacks and aggressions” that occurred in Alsasua in 2016.

Faced with these criticisms, the counselor stressed that the regional government “will always be on the side of the victims and the State Security Forces and Corps”, but “also always on the side of freedom of expression.”
