Vote for the seven ‘wonders’ of Madeira

The voting of the regional finalists of the 7 Wonders of Popular Culture of Portugal began today. Madeira presents itself with seven applications and depends on the public vote to reach the final, scheduled for September.

In Madeira, they are candidates for the 7 Wonders of Popular Culture of Portugal, the ‘Bailinho da Madeira’ (760 207 764), in the ‘Music and Dance’ category; Pasta Doll (760 207 765) and Madeira Embroidery (760 207 766), in the ‘Crafts’ category; the Typical Houses of Santana (760 207 767), the Fachos (760 207 768) and the Flower Carpets (760 207 770), in the ‘Rituals and Customs’ category and, finally, the Funchal Market Night (760 207 769), in the ‘Parties and Fairs’ category.

Of the seven Regional Finalist assets selected in each program (out of a total of 20, transmitted by RTP1), only one winning asset will be found by districts and autonomous regions.

In August (still date to be announced) will be known the remaining assets Pre-Finalists to be added to the Pre-finalists already established in regional qualifying contest, constituting the group of 28 pre-finalists.

The 20 runners-up in the regional qualifiers of the competition will be submitted to a new vote to determine the most voted and of these, between 5 and 8, will proceed to the semi-finals.

The final gala is scheduled for September 5, 2020 and will be broadcast on RTP 1 and RTP Internacional, in prime time.
