N3M. Rezé – Cesson Saint-Brieuc: 3-0
Among the dauphins of Saint Iroise, the Cessonnais lost three sets to zero. But, despite the severity of the score, the Breton coach Grégoire Jaworski saw reasons for satisfaction in this meeting: “I am satisfied because even with the defeat, the guys did not give up and continued to fight. We were missing rotations and we were punished by our blocking because we couldn’t stop their attacks. But the state of mind was exemplary and that’s what we have to rely on to end the season in a good way”. If the Finisterians have not yet validated their maintenance, their victory last week at Beaufeuillage against Boufféré (3-2) gives them a comfortable lead over the first relegation.
Rez despite everything
Facing Rezé (2nd), the Cessonnais were not unworthy, leaving no easy point to their opponents in the Nantes suburbs. In contact during the three rounds, Grégoire Jaworski’s players only gave in in the last moments, and they would have deserved to pocket the second set, which was finally lost 28-26. Applied in their game with a powerful Gabali in attack, the Finisterians lost the 1st round 25-22 but then restarted. Even after the loss of the second set, they competed until taking the score in the last round (16-15). But the rezéen counter made the difference and the locals won 3-0. A defeat certainly, but lessons to be learned before the next meeting in two weeks, against the red lantern Saint-Malo to ensure maintenance (Cesson being exempt next week).
