Volkswagen introduces the ID.4, the brother of the Škoda Enyaq will travel up to 520 km on electricity

Among the mainstream electric SUVs of the middle class, the Škoda Enyaq iV is no longer alone. Volkswagen ID.4 will compete on the same MEB platform. The novelty from VW is only slightly more compact, you will measure 4584 mm in length compared to 4649 mm enyaq.

In terms of design, it is a mixture of SUVs with elements of large MPVs. The light signature on the bow is distinctive, which optically expands the car. The rear lights do a similar service. When viewed from the side, the distinctive chrome line of the roof attracts attention. Wheels up to 21 inches in size also help the design.

Even in the interior, the novelty is inspired by the ID.3 hatchback. Prim plays simplicity and displays. The central is up to 14 inches, a smaller screen is enough in front of the driver, because the car uses a head-up display with augmented reality. The luggage compartment with an adjustable bottom promises a capacity of 543 liters, after folding the seats up to 1575 liters.

Also, the drive system does not differ from ID.3. First, the SUV starts with one electric motor driving the rear wheels. It provides 150 kW (204 hp) and 310 Nm of torque. The battery pack has a capacity of 77 kWh.

Acceleration from zero to 100 km / h takes 8.5 seconds and maximum speed is limited to 160 km / h. Versions with a smaller battery and higher power and all-wheel drive will also follow.

The SUV supports fast charging with an output of up to 125 kW, thanks to which it is possible to get a range of up to 320 kilometers according to the WLTP protocol in 30 minutes. With a maximum charge of up to 520 km. For slow chargers and wallboxes, the ID.4 offers the highest charging speed of up to 11 kW.

The novelty will be manufactured and sold in China, the USA and Europe. Volkswagen intends to launch up to 75 exclusively electrically powered models by 2029 and sell approximately 26 million electric cars by then.
