Volkswagen has confirmed the development of hybrid GTE-modifications of the Tiguan crossover and Arteon sedan. Cars with gas-electric power plants will appear before the end of this year.
The Germans have not yet reported technical details about the new products. It is assumed that they will receive a combined power plant from the updated Volkswagen Passat GTE, which debuted at the beginning of 2020.
It includes a 1.4-liter supercharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 156 liters. pp., which works together with a 115-horsepower electric motor and a set of batteries for 13 kilowatt hours. Volkswagen Passat GTE is capable of driving without recharging exclusively on electric traction up to 56 kilometers.
In Russia, Volkswagen Tiguan is available with 1.4-liter supercharged gasoline engines with a capacity of 125 and 150 liters. with., and also with two-liter units issuing 180 and 220 horsepower. The diesel lineup is represented by a single 150-horsepower 2-liter engine. Volkswagen Arteon in Russia is not yet sold, but the Germans promised to bring this model to the domestic market in 2020.
