VMware Fusion 13 is now available for Intel Macs and Apple Silicon

VMware Fusion 13 is now available for Intel Macs and Apple Silicon. “After years of continuous development and several technical previews, we’re ready to bring Windows 11 and more to Intel Macs and Apple Silicon with the latest major release of VMware Fusion. Let’s take a quick look at what’s new in Fusion 13,” VMware reports.

VMware reports: “On both Intel and Apple Silicon, Fusion 13 provides support for Windows 11 virtual machines. To support Windows 11 system requirements while still providing powerful virtual machines, we had to innovate. We delivered a new Virtual Trusted Platform Module device (2.0) recognized as a valid TPM and a new encryption method to support that TPM.

On Intel Macs, you’ll notice full Windows 11 support with VMware Tools that allows for host-guest interactions like Drag & Drop or Copy & Paste, as well as shared folders and camera and USB device passthrough.

At Apple Silicon, we introduced our first set of features for Windows 11 on Arm. In this release, VMware Tools provides virtual graphics and networking, with more to come. With certified and signed drivers, Windows 11 looks great and adjusts resolution to 4K and beyond!
Please note that Fusion on Apple Silicon must run the Arm variant of Windows 11 and does not support the x86/Intel version of Windows.

However, for users who want to run more traditional Win32 and x64 apps, Windows 11 on Arm built-in emulation to run those applications that are compiled for Intel/AMD, and as a user-level process, our tests have shown us that it works ‘out of the box’.”
