Vladimír Mišík: Health problems complicate his plans!

Singer and musician Vladimír Mišík, in collaboration with producer and composer Petr Ostrouchov, released an album entitled Night Painting on September 24. However, due to Mišík’s health problems, no new recordings are planned for the concert yet.

“We don’t know what the covid will bring in the autumn. We have arranged a small concert together, which has been postponing for a year and a half. The release of the new album does not necessarily have to be connected with the concert,” Ostrouchov told ČTK.

“I can’t guarantee anything, I’m suffering from various health inconveniences. I’m looking forward to the release of the album, there will be some events around it, but I’m not sure that they will be singing or musical on my part. the stage is barely climbing up, so it’s not worth breaking it over the knee, “added Mišík, who celebrated his 74th birthday on March 8 this year. On April 1, he announced on social networks that he was ending to give concerts due to health problems. It has been speculated about his termination of concert activities for a long time.

The recording Noční obraz builds on the previous album One I Meet You, which won six Anděl awards. The release of the novelty was preceded by a single and an animated video clip by director Michaela Pavlátová for the song Sixties, which has recorded almost 50,000 views since its release on September 9.

The album features the American ensemble Blind Boys of Alabama, Mike Marshall, Ondřej Pivec, František Kop, Radek Baborák and Ostrouch’s band Blue Shadows. Lenka Dusilová, Robert Křesťan, Lenka Nová or Markéta Foukalová recorded in the role of vocalists. The music for the album was composed by Ostrouchov and Mišík. “It’s an inspiring collaboration with Láďa (Mišík), writing songs for him is a bonus to everything I’ve done. I enjoy hitting his body, it’s a great experience,” said Ostrouchov.

Mišík also contributed several lyrics. Others are set to music by Jan Skácel, Václav Hrabět, František Hrubín and Jiří Orten. In the case of the song Děkuji Ostrouchov, he set to music the text of the recently deceased composer and singer David Stypka. “I thought I had my large library of poetry taken away, but Petr (Ostrouchov) started wearing things like Skácela, which I didn’t read so much. I found two more texts by Václav Hrabět, there are enough poems, there is still something to discover,” stated Mišík.

Due to the fact that guitarist Mišík was accompanied by health problems with his hand during the recording of the record, he only sings on the album. “The guitar went figuratively into the football, we only managed to record some demos. Surprisingly, the singing didn’t cause me any problems, we recorded it for almost a year and calmly, I was relaxed enough, which was reflected in my singing condition in the Sono studio, I wasn’t stressed, “he said.
