Vivo Becomes the Best Selling Phone in Indonesia, Oppo: That’s Imported Numbers

Suara.com – PR Manager Oppo Indonesia Aryo Meidianto said Vivo became a brand best selling cell phone in Indonesia in the third quarter of 2021 because the Chinese brand imports more gadgets.

It was previously reported that in the third quarter of 2021, Vivo became a brand best selling cell phone in Indonesia with a market share of 23 percent. Under Vivo there is Oppo with a market of 22 percent.

“Report Canalys it only calculates import figures, not overall sales figures. I’ve also spoken to the Canalys. We don’t celebrate import numbers, but sales figures,” said Aryo in a question and answer session for the launch of the Oppo A95 in Jakarta, Thursday (11/18/2021).

Aryo claims, Oppo is also actually no less great if the calculation is done from the number of sales. Unfortunately he did not say for sure how many figures in question.

“If we want to overtake them (Vivo), we have to import a lot,” added Aryo.

Furthermore, he said that Oppo does not need a lot of imports. Because, they already have a production factory located in Indonesia.

“Why (overtake Vivo) if we have a direct production factory in Indonesia. So it’s better for us to produce from our own factory,” he concluded.

The following is a list of the best-selling smartphones in Indonesia during Q3 2021:

  1. Vivo with 23 percent market share
