How is the selection of Vital Heynen? “The coach talks openly with the players. There are no big secrets”

Vital Heynen did not stop stirring. Two plans
In the first nine rounds of the League of Nations, he was supposed to rotate and rotate like no other coach. From the 10th round, he was supposed to play those he would surely take to Tokyo. And in Matchday 10, in a 3-0 win against Canada, Heynen did bet on the leaders. But a day later he gave almost everyone off.
Michał Kubiak and Bartosz Kurek, the players of the Japanese league, did not meet the Japanese. Both of them were not even included in our team of 14 staff. Wilfredo Leon, Fabian Drzyzga and Piotr Nowakowski did not play against the host team.
Grzegorz Łomacz at the game, Maciej Muzaj on the attack, Kamil Semeniuk and Tomasz Fornal at the party, Mateusz Bieniek and Karol Kłos in the middle and Paweł Zatorski as the libero – the Polish squad again looked as if Heynen was checking who to take to Tokyo as the second attacker or fourth host.
Whether our Belgian coach is now thinking more about building the form of certainty in Tokyo, or is he more focused on the selection – it is not known. Certainly Vital has two plans. He wants to and must do both in Rimini. For now, let’s just keep watching how he is doing.
We got a coach, not with the form to play with us
Out of 25 points in the 25:14 victory in the first set, Polish volleyball players scored 13 after the mistakes of the Japanese. More than half! The result of 13: 3 in errors shows the gap between the teams that will face in the fourth round of the Olympic tournament in Tokyo.
At times the Japanese played so badly that it was hard to believe in their sincere efforts. Oh, for example like this:
Japan, who previously won 6 out of 10 games in Rimini, who defeated m.in. Russia, she played with us in an experimental line-up (she certainly did not want to show us her strengths before the Olympics) and did not force us to make any effort. And that’s not good news. Because now the harder the better. We need serious tests on our way to Tokyo. We have already played enough sparrings.
Semeniuk glowed, and now it was overshadowed by Fornal
What conclusions can coach Heynen draw after the game, which does not really contribute much? It was not the first time that Fornal showed a very good performance in Rimini. The Polish champion from Jastrzębski Węgiel is able to attack confidently (with Japan 15/25 and 60% efficiency – best in the team next to Muzaj, who finished 10 out of 17 balls, which gives 59% efficiency) and presents a whole range of solutions. Plus, he’s got a pretty good play, and he doesn’t look like a man who’s burning with emotions. This time (let’s emphasize: this time) Fornal fared much better than Semeniuk, who is making a splash this year.
I wonder what the ranking of Polish hosts created or still created by Heynen looks like. It is very possible that it is in this position that the coach has the most trouble with the final elections.
