With the cancellation of the Tour de Suisse in the midst of the emerging Corona Virus pandemic, cyclists participated in the virtual race starting on Wednesday (22 April) and continuing until 26 of the same month.
Swiss cyclist Killian Frankini was one of dozens of cyclists participating from their homes in the race, as the bike world, along with most sports, almost reached a dead end due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Frankini was almost connected to the race, as he made his way on a stationary bike on his balcony through an actual road he was watching on his front.
Frankini finished 36th out of 57 contestants on the opening day of the five-day race, which ends on April 26th. He said he liked the idea of a virtual race, but that was far from the actual race as he could see the other riders in the tournament.
Dennis Rohan won time 0: 53: 07.4 before Nicholas Roch and James Whelan in second and third places respectively.
Tour de Suisse is a one week road bike race taking place every year in June in Switzerland.
