Viral Advertisement for Priority BCA Upgrade of Rp. 10 Million, BCA: It’s Definitely a Fraud! page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk emphasized that the advertisements on Instagram social media that went viral for committing fraud did not come from their side.

This was in response to a netizen’s post on Twitter who claimed that his sister had been scammed of Rp. 118 million for clicking on an ad on Instagram about terms upgrade BCA priority.

“Friends, friends, friends, if you have this ad, don’t click on it. My brother got 118 million in less than 30 minutes, Dear @BankBCA, this uses your address and name, isn’t there a daily limit for mobile banking?” wrote the owner of the Twitter account @achietmokoginta, Tuesday (7/6/2022).

In the screenshot shared, there is an advertisement on Instagram social media that mentions the conditions upgrade Priority BCA. The ad was seen posted by the Instagram account @bankbcalayan.id.

If the victim clicks on the ad it will be directed to a WhatsApp message with the number +61872006998. The number is in the name of Bank BCAthe office address is also the address of Bank BCA.

Regarding this, Executive Vice President Secretariat and Corporate Communication of BCA, Hera F. Haryn, said that his party had contacted and provided explanations to customers who were victims of fraud.

“The Instagram account is NOT an official BCA account. We always urge customers to be careful of the fraud mode carried out by individuals acting on behalf of BCA,” he said when contacted Kompas.com, Wednesday (8/6/2022).

He added membership Priority BCA can only be obtained through certain terms and conditions and an invitation from a BCA Branch Office.

“So if there is another party offering services upgrade “Being a BCA Prioritas customer by phone and promos on social media is definitely a scam,” he explained.

He reminded customers not to carelessly click on fake links and provide personal data on links that are not guaranteed to be authentic.

Customers are also asked to always maintain the confidentiality of personal data such as debit or credit card numbers, PIN, CVV/CVC, and OTP.

“BCA never asks customers to fill in personal data through any means, including links,” he said.

Then, Halo BCA’s phone number is 1500888 without the prefix 021 or +62. While the official WhatsApp Bank BCA number is 08111500998 with a green tick.

Then, the official BCA website is only www.bca.co.id and the BCA Prioritas website is only priority.bca.co.id and the BYC Apps application.

In addition to those listed above, he made sure it was definitely fake and customers needed to be wary of fraud.
