Violeta García García, designed by Alexis Santana, was crowned the Children’s Queen of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife with her fantasy ‘The oldest in the old factory’. She was the tenth of the 11 applicants to parade during a gala led by Marco and María, who will also deal with the adult.
The girl, with a design that recreates a Singer sewing machine, represents ‘Construcciones y Reformas Eliazar Jesús’ and the restaurant ‘Cofradía La Punta’. She was already the great favorite in the pools prior to her coronation and the doubts were dispelled when the identity of the bridesmaids was revealed.
The show was hosted by singer Natalia, who performed a couple of Disney songs. One of the highlights of the show was when he staged a theme from the movie Frozen. In addition, all the children’s costumes paraded on stage before the winner of the contest, Los Castorcitos, performed.
The gala developed rapidly, to the point that at around eight in the afternoon the coronation of Violeta had already taken place. Her first maid of honor will be Allegra Sebbe, with a Borja Abreu design; and the second, María Eugenia Meza, with ‘A thousand stories’ by Sedomir Rodríguez.
The next big act of the Chicharrero Carnival will take place on Wednesday at the Fairground, with the election of the Queen of the Elderly. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. In addition, outside the official calendar, for this Monday the failure of the prestigious Criticón Award is scheduled, which chooses – it is made by a jury made up of journalists – the best theme of those interpreted in the contest of murgas that ended on Friday with Zeta’s victory Zetas.
