Vinotinto summons 26 men for friendlies against Malta and Saudi Arabia

The Venezuelan Football Federation announced on Tuesday the call for 26 players chosen by Argentine coach José Pékerman, who will face two friendly matches against Malta and Saudi Arabia that will be played next June, on FIFA date.

Among those summoned stands out Adalberto Peñaranda, striker for UD Las Palmas, from Spain, who had not worn the Vinotinto shirt since October 2021 when he faced Brazil, Ecuador and Chile.

Likewise, the call to Fernando Aristeguieta, striker of the Club de Puebla de México, who lives one of his best moments in the Mexican league with seven goals scored, stands out.

Pékerman also called the regulars Tomás Rincón, midfielder for Sampdoria from Italy; Salomón Rondón, striker for Everton FC in England, and goalkeeper Wuilker Faríñez, who currently plays for RC Lens in France.

La Vinotinto will face the Malta team on June 1 at the Ta’Qali National Stadium, while the match against Saudi Arabia will be played in Murcia, Spain, on June 9.

The Venezuelan team was eliminated from the 2022 Qatar World Cup by finishing last in the Conmebol qualifying table with 10 points.
