Two events scheduled for Wednesday March 31 in Villeurbanne were banned by the Rhône prefect.
One of the demonstrations “Mobilization around the issue of poor housing and evictions in the metropolis of Lyon” had been declared to the prefecture but not the second, called “Carnival against all evictions”.
“These two events, which in reality are one since the organizers, the place and the time are the same, are of a festive nature which will not make it possible to guarantee compliance with sanitary measures.“, can we read in a press release from the Rhône prefecture.
A demonstration ban was also issued from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday March 31 in the area of avenue Aristide Briand, rue Paul Verlaine, rue du 4 August 1789 and rue Michel Servet.
