The viewer is introduced to Patricia and her family. She is a single mother of three young children and does not have an easy time. Daughter Denise, son Rick and recently one-year-old Caitlyn all have different dads and all fathers are no longer part of their lives. This makes Patricia on her own to pay for the care of her children and is also the only breadwinner. Due to a bizarre construction, it is not just possible to move to a cheaper house, where all her money is now going.

The family trades a week of life with party DJ Maurice Huismans. He lives with his girlfriend and their three-year-old son Chiron in a converted farmhouse in Doornspijk. As a creative brain behind the success of the Snollebollekes, among others, Maurice is prospering.

Patricia is moved several times during the episode. She says that she often feels too little and is very jealous of the lives of others. “It touches me that I would never have that,” she says.
