Riga Mayor Mārtiņš Staķis yesterday, September 23, greeted beach volleyball players Mārtiņš Pļaviņš and Edgars Točs with the 4th place in the Olympic Games.
The stacker has posted a video on his Twitter account, which has become a real internet hit.
The video shows how an employee of the Riga City Council went to the mayor, inviting him to come out of the office to meet Pļaviņas and Toča. “Mārtiņš, Pļaviņš and Točs have come to you.”
The mayor of Riga has responded to the invitation quite amusingly. “In what connection? Oh, the real Pļaviņš and Točs”.
This mayor ‘s video on Twitter has not left anyone indifferent. Many appreciate Staķis’ sense of humor, in which he understandably initially “thought” that the founder of SIA “Memory Water”, activist Jānis Pļaviņš and publicist Sandris Točs have come to him.

Yesterday, September 23, Riga Mayor Mārtiņš Staķis (PP) and Chairman of the Education, Culture and Sports Committee Iveta Ratinīka (LA) presented cash prizes to the capital’s athletes and coaches for outstanding achievements in sports in 2020, as well as in the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games 2021. per year.
