Video: Rihards Leper tests the hybrid SUV ‘Nissan X-Trail e-4orce’

For the already familiar Nissan The “Qashqai e-Power” hybrid off-roader, which does not need to be charged from the power grid, because its design uses an internal combustion gasoline engine that produces the electricity needed for this car, has been joined by its “big brother” or “X-Trail” model, which is now also available in the “e- Power” and even in the “e-4orce” modification.

And in the pilot’s seat of this “big brother” the program of the studio “RJ76 Films”Silent Auto TV” seated the eldest of the Leper brothers – Rihards. We have seen him as an actor on the stages of various theaters, also in the roles of cinema and TV series, for example in the latest film “Circenīša Christmas”, the song play “Sveiks: then and now” (also in the concert performance “But that the sun is beating” with Paul’s music and Peter’s poetry). Last year Rihards also starred in the Hollywood movie “Warhunt” with Mickey Rourke.

Unlike “Nissan Qashqai e-Power”, the new “X-Trail” is available not only in the already mentioned “e-Power”, but also in the “e-4orce” version. The concept of both of these modifications is actually identical – the basis of their power equipment is a three-cylinder internal combustion engine, which is used exclusively as a generator, while the car is driven forward by an electric motor. In addition, “X-Trail e-4orce” even has two of them: one of them is placed in front of the car, while the other one is on the rear wheel axle. Their total power is 210 hp, and the torque is up to 525 Nm. Thanks to such arrangement of engines, “X-Trail e-4orce” has all-wheel drive.

On the other hand, the “e-Power” technology also ensures more efficient driving in terms of fuel consumption, when compared to a traditional gasoline engine – it is 6 to 7 liters of gasoline per 100 km.

“Nissan X-Trail e-4orce” is a relatively dynamic car. Despite its dimensions – it is 4.68 meters long and with a curb weight of 2000 kg – it can reach 100 km/h in 7 seconds. The all-wheel drive system, although it is fully electronic, because in the “e-4orce” design there is neither a cardan connecting the two car bridges, nor an inter-axle lock, it works quite predictably. Thanks to the already mentioned location of the engines (front and rear), the car’s weight distribution along the axles is almost perfect. And it also leaves a certain impression on the car’s handling and stability.

In addition, “X-Trail” is not only a visually modern car. It is literally stuffed with various auxiliary systems that will not only make driving the car easier, but also make it safer. Examples include intelligent cruise control, lane assist, collision warning system, automatic braking system when driving in reverse. In addition, “X-Trail” is equipped with the “ProPilot” navigation system, which will ensure that the car is in the middle of its lane and at a preset distance from the car in front. It also uses the built-in TomTom navigation maps to help navigate curves, junctions, exits and other traffic features.

“X-Trail” literally combines two worlds: the electric age that has taken over the automotive industry and classic internal combustion engines, which this time took care of the driver’s independence from the charging infrastructure. To use this car on a daily basis, you don’t need to think about charging options – as they say, just fill in the gas and drive! At the same time, enjoying the dynamics and torque provided by electric motors throughout the engine operating range.
