Ralph Hasenhüttl and FC Southampton move up to fifth in the Premier League table thanks to a 2-1 away win at Brighton and Hove Albion.
The “Saints” fell behind in the 26th minute when Pascal Groß converted a penalty for Brighton. Jannik Vestergaard was able to equalize with his head in the 45th minute. A controversial scene erupted in the 81st minute when Southampton were awarded a questionable penalty. Danny Ings sank the bump confidently and led the southern Englishmen onto the road to victory.
In the table, the Hasenhüttl team is only two points behind third Chelsea, while Leicester City is fourth. Southampton are four points short of leader Tottenham.
