Warming up for the European Football Championship in just over a week: the elephants trained in Hamburg’s Hagenbeck Zoo on Wednesday. The 41-year-old cow elephant Yashoda is said to be an oracle to predict the results of the German national team. To do this, with the support of her fellows, she will take the national flag of the Siegerland out of a silver box one day before the game. For the first time, Yashoda will be in office the day before the European Championship game between Germany and France on June 15. Hamburg’s soccer oracle was born “in the Indian jungle” and shortly after it was born, it lost track of its herd. Gamekeepers took care of the young animal. In 1990 Yashoda, who weighs an impressive 3.8 tons, then came to Hamburg. UEFA’s Euro 2020 will take place from June 11 to July 11, 2021 and will open with the game between Turkey and Italy in Rome.
