Brodie is a seven-year-old girl who has revolutionized social networks with a series of videos in which she appears in a gym in Florida, USA, lifting up to 43 kilos of weight.

This can be seen on the Instagram profile of her mother, Jess Bowen, a fitness expert and owner, along with her husband, of the Militia Fitness company.

At six years old, the little girl already lifted 24 kilos and with seven she has practically doubled that weight. It is an unusual practice for such a young girl.

In one of the recordings, Brodie appears squatting with a steel bar on his shoulders, which usually weighs approximately 15 kilos, and with weights at one end and the other. It is an exercise that involves squats or standing with all that load after a great effort.

In most of the images she can be seen with an adult, either her father or mother, who supervise the exercise. Thus, she also appears doing crunches on the trellis, running on a treadmill or performing balance exercises.

But how could it be otherwise, these videos and photographs have generated a division of opinions among users of social networks about the desirability of a girl as young as seven years old undergoing such demanding training.

Many of them express their appreciation for the little girl’s state of form and affirm that her strength is surprising. But others consider that it is not good for minors to undergo adult exercises because it can affect their bones, their back or their growth.

“They have softer skeletons and bones than adults and should not lift as much weight,” says one of the users. “This is dangerous for their development,” says another. To all these criticisms, some people respond that it is a “myth”.

Some sports figures have been added to the debate, such as the Venezuelan great league Wilson Contreras, of the Chicago Cubs: “Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think it’s safe for her,” he said.
