In Riga, Bolderāja, the entertainment of a very active dog in the kitchen ended with a visit of a firefighter and a gas service, because a four-legged friend caused a gas leak, the program “Degpunkta” reports.
This dog named Rodžijs has been living with his owner on the first floor of a five-storey house on Lielupes Street, Bolderāja for less than a year. Today, due to a four-legged friend, the neighbors had to call the rescue service to this address, because there was a peculiar smell of gas in the stairwell.
Firefighters in the apartment found a gas leak. As the house had an iron door, in order not to increase the conditions of fire danger, rescuers chose to enter the apartment through a window. As the window had iron grilles, a special hydraulic tool was used to enter the apartment. When firefighters entered the apartment, the men turned off the gas and released the dog, who was scared and breathed the smell of gas.
Soon the owner of the apartment came to the house, but at that time the crisis situation had already been eliminated and the pet was already waiting for the man at the door of the staircase. As the owner of the animal explained in “Degpunkta”, possibly the dog, being alone in the apartment, caught the buttons of the gas stove while playing with his paws and thus a leak occurred.
