Inspired by Latvians a capella Jānis Purviņš, the artistic director and choreographer of the Latvian Voices folk song series “Latvian Myth”, “Līgo”, has created a new dance performance that mythically paves the way for the upcoming concert at the Summer Solstice of 2021 in Valāta Castle Mound, Kazdanga.

The fragile, bright and transcendental sound of the “Latvian Myth” cycle of folk songs led to a mythical creative cycle that turned into a dance performance, permeated by a love for Latvian nature, human life according to it, and traditions inherited from generation to generation. some of the dances of the play “Latvian Myth” TDA Midsummer This summer we managed to dance in an open – air concert in Kazdanga and I very much hope that next year at the summer solstice we will return to Kazdanga side, where Valata castle mound will enjoy a special feeling in the presence of concert spectators, “says Jānis Purviņš.
