Veßra Monastery: Cinema on the Museumswiese – Hildburghausen

Veßra Abbey – On August 27, 9 pm, the Hennebergisches Museum Veßra Abbey and Schauburg2Go invite you to a cinematic journey into the Middle Ages with the film “Narcissus and Goldmund” (D / AUS, 2020, 118 min, FSK 12). At the center of the story is the deep friendship between the reserved novice Narcissus and the lively convent student Goldmund. While Narcissus knows that he himself will stay in the monastery forever, he has to realize that his friend’s path leads out into the world. Years later, the two meet again when Goldmund, who has since become a sculptor, is supposed to design a new altar for the monastery at Narcissus’ request. But the other monks are increasingly suspicious of the friendship between the two …
