Bosch suddenly for many showed the concept of an electric bike. Unexpectedly, because for many Bosch, it’s definitely not about bicycles. But it is not so. Component companies use many manufacturers in their e-bikes. For example, Riese & Müller cargo bikes and Gepida, Cube, Mustache bikes:
Bosch is a well-known manufacturer of batteries and motors for such bicycles. And the company has been doing this for ten years. Especially for this date, Bosch presented the conceptual eBike Design Vision – an electric bike created on existing components of the company.
Most of the main components are made by Bosch itself. The “Heart” of the bike was the Performance Line CX motor, which is powered by a 625 Whr PowerTube 625 battery. The main components work from him, among which the Bosch Nyon computer, as well as LED headlights and a flashlight.
An interesting solution: this bike has ABS! The eBike ABS system monitors the rotation of both wheels and calculates when the front can be locked. At this point, the system adjusts the brake pressure, preventing the bike from tipping over.
The bike also received a rear shock absorber built into the frame. Of course, it can be loudly stated that, together with the shock absorber and this shock absorber, the bike became a double suspension, but this is not entirely true: a hidden suspension is needed only for a more comfortable ride. It will not become a replacement for a real suspension.
Bosch calls eBike Design Vision a city bike. Although there are powerful and wide tires. Bosch also made a carbon frame. Apparently, the total weight of the components is so high that a more or less acceptable weight can only be observed in this case.
And here we must understand that in reality the price of such a bicycle will not be small. A complete set of Bosch Nyon costs about 500 € (about 40 thousand rubles), the motor will go on sale only in the fall, but the price for previous models easier starts from 445 € (about 36 thousand rubles), the battery costs 605 € (somewhere 49 thousand rubles) ) The cost of the ABS system is unknown, as it is developed but not for sale.
Keep in mind that the cost of a carbon frame will also be rather big and unlikely to be less than 1000 €. And the disks are also, frankly, not cheap. This is a Bike Ahead, the cost of which varies from 3,000 to 5,000 euros. That is, a bicycle assembly is unlikely to cost less than 7 thousand euros (conditionally 570 thousand rubles). And this is even higher than the cost of good Specialized!
