Venues and vaccination dates announced for CDMX educational personnel

Director of Digital Government of the Digital Agency for Public Innovation, Eduardo Clark García Dobarganes, reported this Tuesday on the situation of the pandemic in Mexico City, and assured that the rebound in coronavirus cases due to the Omicron variant that is recorded has not been reflected in the general bed occupancy, far from beds with a mechanical fan.

During the press conference of the CDMX Government, Eduardo Clark reported that as of Monday night, in Mexico City there were 906 people hospitalized in public and private hospitals by Covid-19 or suspicion of it; 725 people in general beds and 181 in beds with a mechanical ventilator.

The official indicated that people who are being hospitalized for Covid-19 or suspected of it in Mexico City stay for less time in hospitals, unlike the hospital residence of the previous waves, “throughout the pandemic, on average the residence hospital, the average days of stay in a hospital for Covid patients, ranged between 13 and 11 days, since the beginning of the increase in cases due to the Omicron variant, we see a different circumstance in which people now spend an average close to the 8 days, ”he said.

It reported that most of the hospitalizations registered in the City are of people who have not been vaccinated. He explained that last Monday there were 130 hospitalized patients, of which 99, that is, 76%, had not applied any dose; 6 of the patients, that is, 5%, had only one dose, and 19%, that is, 25 patients, already had their two doses.

Regarding the hospitalized people who have their complete vaccination schedule, the CDMX Secretary of Health, Oliva López Arellanosaid that these people mostly have other diseases or uncontrolled comorbidities.

Capital government officials invited people who have not come to be vaccinated to do so, since they said, 81% of hospitalizations in CDMX are of unvaccinated people.

On the other hand, the Secretary of Health of the CDMX, Oliva López Arellano, indicated that the new variant of Covid-19, Ómicron, has the character of being much more contagious than other variants, but that fortunately so far has not generated the same proportion of hospitalizations as in previous waves, “mainly because the vast majority of the population already has the complete vaccination scheme and the booster app in different age groups, “he said.

The secretary made a series of recommendations to prevent the continuation of the increase in Covid-19 cases. The indications are:

  1. If you have symptoms (sore throat, cough, heavy nasal discharge, fever, hoarseness), whether or not you are vaccinated, you should isolate yourself for 7 days.
  2. Oxygenation should be checked, if it is above 90 and there is no respiratory distress or high fever, avoid going out for a test Covid test, given the intense transmission of this variant
  3. In case of mild symptoms, you should stay home, isolate yourself, and avoid infecting other people.
  4. If there is a persistent high fever for more than two days or oxygenation is below 90%, you should go to a health unit, call Locatel for guidance and care or you can also send an SMS to 51515 Covid-19 .
  5. Continue to wear face masks, keep a healthy distance, cough or sneeze into the inner corner of the elbow, wash your hands and avoid crowding as much as possible.
  6. Ventilate the spaces.
  7. If you have not received the vaccine, get vaccinated.
  8. If someone has been in close contact for a long time without safe distance measures and the use of face masks with a person who has Covid, they should preferably be isolated for 7 days.

The secretary recalled that employers should not request Covid-19 test results from their employees and pointed out that the IMSS has already changed the conditions of disability and now it can be done electronically, “You do not need to do a test and you can have the IMSS Covid Permit,” he said.
