Venezuelan regime orders arrest against Leopoldo López and Juan Guaidó • La Nación

The Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, announced the request for arrest warrants against 13 opposition leaders for alleged crimes of “treason against the country,” including members of the work team of presidential candidate María Corina Machado and the president. from the NGO Súmate, Roberto Abdul.

Saab indicated that an arrest warrant has been requested against the coordinator of the Vente Venezuela organization, Henry Alviarez; against the communications coordinator Claudia Macero; and against the international coordinator, Pedro Urruchurtu, for his participation in the organization of the primary on October 22.

He also announced arrest warrants against opponents in exile: Yon Goicoechea, Juan Guaidó, Julio Borges, David Smolansky, Carlos Vecchio, Lester Toledo and Leopoldo López. To them are also added arrest warrants against former Chavista ministers Andrés Izarra and Rafael Ramírez.

“All of them linked to the crimes of treason, conspiracy with a foreign power to harm the State, money laundering, association to commit a crime,” said.

“After several investigative procedures, it was possible to identify a series of financing coming from the money laundering of international organizations to conspire against the development of the referendum on Guyana Esequiba,” Saab stated.

The presidential candidate has already reacted to the decision and stated that the regime is desperate for fear of being rejected. “Well, they are becoming evident. I’m going to repeat it. Our route is a route of citizen organization. It is a route that leads us to holding free and competitive presidential elections. All members of this organization are dedicated to this, as you know. AND What happens is a desperate regime that knows it has been defeated. And if they believe that with this they are going to create fear, disaster, demoralization or demobilization, it is quite the opposite,” Machado said at a press conference.
