Venezuela commemorated this Saturday the 83rd anniversary of the birth of the musician and economist José Antonio Abreu, Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts for the renowned music program El Sistema Nacional de Orquestas in the country, which he founded in 1975.
On his Twitter account, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro remembered Abreu as a “teacher and friend, nationalist and Bolivarian, son of this beautiful country, to which he gave his greatest dreams.”
